In line with corporate user requests, the Datasafe Business Edition does not permit the user to store any data in a non encrypted drive. The BE version enforces password generation rules to ensure that the user employs a strong password, and is not able to store data until this password is set.
The device is shipped in a mode preventing access to the encrypted partition, and will immediately prompt the user to create a new password based on the strong inbuilt password rules. In the event of someone attempting to gain entry to the drive by repetitive entry of a password (a brute force attack), the cryptokey is destroyed - permanently making the data inaccessible and generating a new key. The encrypted partition itself is then secured and the user is prompted to enter a new password using the password rules. As with all Hypertec USB flash products, bespoke Product and Vendor identification information can be created specifically for the end user, making the product unique to the end user and therefore offering a finer granularity of control to any endpoint control software used.
The DataSafe Business Edition is available in either a shock proof, water resistant, rubberised capsule-style casing, or a slimline silver casing.
